NC Teacher Working Conditions Survey: Data Protocols & Resources
April 2024
Education Matters aims to provide the public with real facts about the state of public education in North Carolina. The weekly television show explores everything from the history of public education to the impact of legislation and policy decisions on our public schools. The program is hosted by Mary Ann Wolf, President and Executive Director of the Public School Forum.
"The North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions is an excellent opportunity for teachers to share their voice and impact change to improve the working environment and ensure it is conducive to learning. It not only gauges the pulse of educators' experiences in traditional classrooms but also sheds light on the challenges and opportunities presented in the dynamic realm of virtual learning. The survey's findings are pivotal for shaping policies that support teachers in navigating the evolving landscape of education."

Executive Director, NC Virtual Public School
"The TWC survey should be an important part of a robust school improvement process. As schools analyze student achievement data, we must use the results of the TWC to problem-solve our school environment. Just as we analyze the instruction and curriculum, we must also look at the total school environment throughout the MTSS framework. The TWC captures those culture and relational aspects that we know impact student connectedness and achievement. The new changes in the TWC will allow leaders to have a more streamlined focus that will help target areas of need."
